Lots of fun, I'm kicking around some ideas of art and designs I can do that would be just for jewelry.

Scarlett Takes Manhattan book signing at MoCCA

Went to the Scarlett Takes Manhattan book signing /documentary viewing at MoCCA on Tues 7/21 where I met up with a bunch of Dr Sketchy's peeps for hangouts and free wine/cider. Was very fun, and good times were had by all. Even got to hang out after at Fred and Molly's swanky new pad and have discussions ranging from Marxism to Ninja Turtles.

New Self Portrait

Kept being told I don't draw myself 'pretty enough', which I think is an odd compliment, but hey, that's cool. I think. :/
But yeah, so I'm trying to draw myself 'prettier', which I'm guessing includes skirts and heels.
Will also be using this for some new promo material including my ad in Bachelor Pad magazine.

Artists & Fleas Designer Market in Brooklyn

So yesterday was my first day at the Artists & Fleas Indoor Designer Market in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. It went ok, sold a few prints, met some really nice people and may have future interest in some commissions. Not sure if/when I'll do it again, but it was a fun way to spend a Saturday. Now I'm anxiously awaiting Baltimore Comic Con in October.

At my table I sold prints, artbooks, Shrinky-Dink jewelry, temporary tattoos and I was taking orders for commissions.

View from my table:

I also did some on-the-spot b&w marker sketches to practice drawing behind a table so I can start doing them at an actual comic con. I got 3 good drawings done- Catwoman, Wolverine and Raphael. Had to do three characters from memory, since I didn't have any reference and no one was asking me to draw anything in particular, though I also lacked the proper signage to let people *know* I was drawing on the spot. Gave Catwoman away to my friend Connie who was super awesome to come all the way out from New Jersey with her hubby Noah to check out the spread. But yeah, Raphael and Wolverine are going up for sale via mailorder, so check them out on my store in the next few days!

1st Temporary Tattoo- Success!

Got some temporary tattoo paper and figured I'd try making some small Paigey tattoos to give away with purchases, cuz I love giving out little freebies. They worked out pretty awesome. So far I have a roller girl, Bettie Page and a modified self portrait that has my name on a banner and some roses. You know, for my most *devoted* of fans. ;) More pics soon! The only prob I've run into with the temporary tats is that they remain somewhat tacky on your skin, so shirt fuzzies and dust will stick to them and eventually make it look kinda dirty. I suggest putting it on the outside of your arm or somewhere with little skin-clothing friction.
Ahhh! So excited about my Artists & Fleas table this Saturday!

1st Try at Shrinky Dink Jewelry

Working on some Shrinky Dink jewelry to sell at Artists & Fleas next week and eventually at my tables at comic conventions.

Still trying to figure out what works and what doesn't. Never really made jewelry before, but so far it's been a fun side project. I'll be selling these and a few others at Artist & Fleas in Brooklyn, and once I get the hang of it, these and better ones at comic conventions and via mailorder.

Their latest fall quarterly issue featuring my ad should be out in cool bookstores with huge magazine racks (Borders, Barnes & Noble) across the country this September!

Paigey! on Facebook

I have a fanpage on Facebook! I tend to post there a little more regularly (still getting used to this actual blog with it's old school html), if you happen to be on FB too, feel free to become a fan!

Finally DONE my Wilma's Romances cover! Whew! That only took me like a MONTH. 9_9 It looks good tho, right? I have my doubts at various stages whether or not it'll look good, but when my boyf Phil works his magic on those title blocks the art and typography come together like peanut butter and jelly!

Also, I can totally do these faux comic covers as commissions, email me at iampaigey@yahoo.com for an estimate!
